Katie Ahearn believes in education that promotes meeting the child where they are at after addressing her own adult self first. She is an educator who loves the next challenge and to go against the status quo. State officials, district personnel, and any other observers who walk into her planning, classrooms, and trainings describe it as innovative and transformational because of the connection and love apparent in the environment. Education is truly the great equalizer, when schools are safe, connected, and work to solve problems.

Selwaan Mahmoud is a lifelong educator and a parent who has always believed in the power of positive intent and the importance of critical thinking. She has worked with students as young as two months in nurseries to adults in large school systems. She has trained and coached administrators, teachers, students and parents in training and implementing Conscious Discipline school wide.
Nicole LangstonCertified Instructor
Nicole Langston, an educator with over 17 years of experience and mother of four, discovered Conscious Discipline when she first became a principal. Nicole has worked as a Director of Early Childhood, principal, and elementary teacher while also leading Parents as Teachers, Gifted and Talented, Head Start and pregnant and parenting teens. She has an Ed.S in Education Policy and Analysis from the University of Missouri, a M.Ed from William Woods University, and a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Missouri State University.

Megan Shea-Bates has over 10 years of experience in the classroom and in administrative roles, ranging from special education Pre-K to adults in diverse environments. She discovered Conscious Discipline as an administrator and has used those foundational practices to educate, train and coach parents, teachers and leaders.

Tym Smith began working in the education field in 1986. After spending more than five years in the classroom, he advanced to fill various positions including Education Specialist, Assistant Director, Site Manager, Director and District Manager. He owns and operates five early education programs in Texas and is on the board of directors for The Association for Early Learning Leaders.
Rozlyn GrantCertified Instructor
Rozlyn Grant is a wife, mother of two boys and passionate early childhood educator with over 19 years’ experience in teaching, administration, coaching and consulting in public and private sectors. Rozlyn has a B.A. in Child & Family Development and a M.A. Ed. in Education Administration/Adult Learning. Conscious Discipline is a way of life for Rozlyn and her family as she strives to make the world a better place one interaction at a time.
Kelly Frazier-WawireCertified Instructor
Kelly Frazier-Wawire’s more than 15 years in education have been “a road less traveled.” Although she began her career in high schools, she transitioned to first grade after teaching in Bangladesh as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Most of her adventures and her greatest lessons have been learned in The Chicago Public Schools, where she’s been a teacher, an administrator, a social worker and, most recently, a district-wide SEL specialist. She’s also a new mom and appreciates how helpful Conscious Discipline is in everyday life!

Tracy Skripka is a Public School Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has been instrumental in the implementation of Conscious Discipline school and district-wide. Tracy uses Conscious Discipline as the foundation of her school counseling program and her private counseling practice.
