She is passionate about supporting adults by offering the safety and connection they inherently need, yet may not have experienced fully in their own childhood. Katie Ahearn believes in education that promotes meeting the child where they are at after addressing her own adult self first. She is an educator who loves the next challenge and to go against the status quo. State officials, district personnel, and any other observers who walk into her planning, classrooms, and trainings describe it as innovative and transformational because of the connection and love apparent in the environment. Mandy has been the Headmistress (Principal) at a leading independent school in Johannesburg for the last 10 years. She is mom to two beautiful children, Robyn and Ryan, and a proud wife to Garreth. Mandy has been working in Independent Schools, both Pre-K and elementary, with children aged 3-9 for 20 years. Mandy sits on the Board of Directors at a local Pre-Primary School. She is part of the leadership team of the Conscious Parenting Association South Africa and a member of the Association for Coaching.

Selwaan Mahmoud is a lifelong educator and a parent who has always believed in the power of positive intent and the importance of critical thinking. She has worked with students as young as two months in nurseries to adults in large school systems. She has trained and coached administrators, teachers, students and parents in training and implementing Conscious Discipline school wide.

Cheryl Cotter is a wife, mother and special educator with over 29 years of experience. Cheryl discovered Conscious Discipline when she was looking for a better way to support her son. She had followed all the doctors’ recommendations for behavior management tools; nothing was working. She learned about Conscious Discipline at a training in New Hampshire and never looked back.
Bailey SmithCertified Instructor
Bailey Smith is a wife, teacher and nanny to two young boys. She has taught Grades 3-5 in Title I schools for the last six years. Bailey attended a Conscious Discipline Summer Institute prior to her first year of teaching and is grateful that she was able to begin her teaching career with the program’s powers, skills and structures. She has led staff training in Conscious Discipline and guided other teachers through the implementation process.
Nicole LangstonCertified Instructor
Nicole Langston, an educator with over 17 years of experience and mother of four, discovered Conscious Discipline when she first became a principal. Nicole has worked as a Director of Early Childhood, principal, and elementary teacher while also leading Parents as Teachers, Gifted and Talented, Head Start and pregnant and parenting teens. She has an Ed.S in Education Policy and Analysis from the University of Missouri, a M.Ed from William Woods University, and a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Missouri State University.
