Kenedria Thurman
Certified InstructorAs a college student and part-time preschool teacher, Kenedria was first introduced to Conscious Discipline by Certified Instructor, Nicole Mercer. Kenedria has always had a passion for connecting with children and seeing them as able, and deserving of love and intentional learning. The introduction to the seven skills and structures for classroom management enhanced her teaching while working in faith based preschool programs and in-home child care.

Edna Medrano
Certified InstructorEdna has more than 15 years of experience in Early Childhood and supporting children, families and educators. After being introduced to Conscious Discipline, Edna embraced it and first began applying it in her personal life as a wife and parent to three children. Her professional experience comes from working in Early Head Start providing support to staff in family services, education and most recently as a home based specialist. She has a passion for helping others and is committed to strengthening families. Edna holds a B.A. in Social Work and a M.S. in Family Studies.

Certified InstructorSelwaan Mahmoud is a lifelong educator and a parent who has always believed in the power of positive intent and the importance of critical thinking. She has worked with students as young as two months in nurseries to adults in large school systems. She has trained and coached administrators, teachers, students and parents in training and implementing Conscious Discipline school wide.

Certified InstructorCheryl Cotter is a wife, mother and special educator with over 29 years of experience. Cheryl discovered Conscious Discipline when she was looking for a better way to support her son. She had followed all the doctors’ recommendations for behavior management tools; nothing was working. She learned about Conscious Discipline at a training in New Hampshire and never looked back.

Nicole Langston
Certified InstructorNicole Langston, an educator with over 17 years of experience and mother of four, discovered Conscious Discipline when she first became a principal. Nicole has worked as a Director of Early Childhood, principal, and elementary teacher while also leading Parents as Teachers, Gifted and Talented, Head Start and pregnant and parenting teens. She has an Ed.S in Education Policy and Analysis from the University of Missouri, a M.Ed from William Woods University, and a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Missouri State University.
