Tymothy Smith

Tym Smith has worked in education for over 30 years. His career spans roles including Pre-K teacher, education specialist, Assistant Director, Site Manager, Director and District Manager. From 2002-2005, Tym also served as a NAEYC Validator.

Over the past 14 years, Tym has spent thousands of hours training staff and management across the country at local and national conferences. He is currently a registered trainer on the Texas Trainer Registry, offering trainings to staff and management throughout the state. In 2007, Tym started Tym the Trainer, a training company dedicated to quality and diversity for childcare programs. He owns and operates five early education programs in Texas and is on the board of directors for The Association for Early Learning Leaders.

Tym was first introduced to Conscious Discipline through the Frog Street Curriculum. His center was seeking guidance with aggression and challenging behaviors, and the staff decided to attend a Summer Institute. According to Tym, they never looked back. Conscious Discipline has completely transformed the culture at Tym’s childcare programs. It has reduced staff turnover, boosted enrollment to capacity, and changed Tym and most of his staff as humans.

Tym is proud to share Conscious Discipline with his families, community and the wider world as a Certified Instructor. He is known for his fun, upbeat personality and his positivity, which translates to engaging and inspirational presentations.
