Megan Duplain has 25 years of experience in education, including roles as a special educator and an administrator. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Special Education and is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. She is currently in the fourth year of leading a successful district-wide rollout of Conscious Discipline in the Litchfield Elementary School District in Arizona.
Kyndal EasterCertified Instructor
Kyndal Easter lives in Northern California with her husband, new baby boy and dog. She is currently a School Leader at The Primary School in East Palo Alto, CA, where she has the honor of focusing her work on creating safe and supportive environments for students, families and staff. Her 10+ years of experience in education also include work as an early childhood teacher and early literacy coach.
Kelly Frazier-WawireCertified Instructor
Kelly Frazier-Wawire’s more than 15 years in education have been “a road less traveled.” Although she began her career in high schools, she transitioned to first grade after teaching in Bangladesh as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Most of her adventures and her greatest lessons have been learned in The Chicago Public Schools, where she’s been a teacher, an administrator, a social worker and, most recently, a district-wide SEL specialist. She’s also a new mom and appreciates how helpful Conscious Discipline is in everyday life!
Helen GudaCertified Instructor
Helen Guda is director of her own consultancy Develop to Grow, which is born out of a passion for the development of people and is based on a firm belief that human growth is the way to personal and collective success.
Karen HickmanMaster Instructor
Karen Hickman has a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, both from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has been in the field of education for over 25 years, including teaching grades 4-6 in public school, operating an in-home preschool program for ten years and teaching as an adjunct professor for the University of Missouri-Columbia. Karen also has background experience as a Certified High/Scope Trainer and a Certified High/Scope Teacher. In 2003, the Central Missouri Association for the Education of Young Children honored Karen with the Outstanding Early Childhood Professional Award.
Stephanie HolmesCertified Instructor
Stephanie brings a wealth of international experience with children, having over 25 years of experience teaching primary and secondary students in Europe and most recently in Grenada. She loves working with vulnerable children as she brought Conscious Discipline to her children at school and at home as a mother of two. Practicing Conscious Discipline is a way of life for Stephanie.
Kim HughesMaster Instructor
Kim Hughes is a 30+ year veteran of education with master’s degrees in both Elementary Education and School Leadership/Administration. She was awarded the 1999-2000 North Carolina Teacher of the Year Award. Kim excels in providing engaging, informative events for educators and administrators of children infant through elementary age.
Nicole LangstonCertified Instructor
Nicole Langston, an educator with over 17 years of experience and mother of four, discovered Conscious Discipline when she first became a principal. Nicole has worked as a Director of Early Childhood, principal, and elementary teacher while also leading Parents as Teachers, Gifted and Talented, Head Start and pregnant and parenting teens. She has an Ed.S in Education Policy and Analysis from the University of Missouri, a M.Ed from William Woods University, and a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Missouri State University.
Selwaan MahmoudCertified Instructor
Selwaan Mahmoud is a lifelong educator and a parent who has always believed in the power of positive intent and the importance of critical thinking. She has worked with students as young as two months in nurseries to adults in large school systems. She has trained and coached administrators, teachers, students and parents in training and implementing Conscious Discipline school wide.
