Carla Briezen has been working in the field of education in Aruba for over 20 years. Her aim is to introduce Conscious Discipline to as many people as possible and to be an example of living the principles of Conscious Discipline. Carla believes that adults and children alike can grow and live joyous, valuable lives founded on love instead of fear. By consciously accessing our brilliance when we apply the powers and skills of Conscious Discipline, we can build more loving and connected families, schools, companies and communities.
Carla has worked for over 20 years in Aruba’s Department of Education. She holds a master’s degree in Developmental Psychology and has spent 14 years as a school psychologist in kindergarten and elementary schools.
About 20 years ago, Carla got her first introduction to Conscious Discipline when Dr. Becky Bailey gave a presentation in Aruba. In 2011, she attended a two-day workshop in Aruba. Since 2014, Carla has worked alongside Aruba’s first Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor. She has coached school personnel in implementing Conscious Discipline, guided school principals in school improvement, and given presentations and workshops to parents and educators. Carla has also helped organize two week-long Conscious Discipline institutes in Aruba.
Carla says that Conscious Discipline has improved her relationships with herself, her coworkers, her husband, and the rest of her family. It has made her more present and compassionate and given her the ability to be assertive and focus on solutions. Seeing the changes Conscious Discipline has made in her own life, Carla is passionate about spreading the message of Conscious Discipline to as many people as possible. Training participants say that Carla’s coaching is practical, hands-on, and highly effective.×
