Renee Sutherland, a Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has worked with children, families and educators for over 30 years. As a former Preschool Teacher, Head Start Home Educator, Center Director and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist she brings practical perspective, solid knowledge and relevant stories to her trainings.

From 2003-2015, Renee served as the Mental Health Coordinator for Knox County Head Start, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where she was instrumental in their agency wide Conscious Discipline implementation. In 2010 Knox County Head Start was designated as one of the ten National Head Start Centers of Excellence for its comprehensive utilization of Conscious Discipline. Since that time, Renee has shared their success story at numerous national, regional and state conferences, as well as has trained and coached multiple programs and schools across the state of Ohio.

In addition to training educators, she has trained over one thousand parents in using Conscious Discipline and facilitates an ongoing state wide Conscious Discipline coach/mentor initiative for Early Head Start Mentor/Coaches. Renee is an Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and is currently the owner of her own independent training and consulting organization, Raising Resilience with Conscious Discipline.
