Amanda discovered Conscious Discipline in her first year of administration and has integrated the principles of Conscious Discipline into her personal and professional life ever since. Amanda has held multiple roles—including special education teacher, assistant principal, principal and assistant director of early education—in districts serving communities with diverse populations. Her personal experiences in these varied roles add depth, meaning and real-world application to her trainings. Amanda earned a Master of Science in Building Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and Special Education, and is an Education Specialist in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

    Experience

    Amanda began her education career as a special education teacher before transitioning to the administrative realm. She now has more than 10 years of leadership experience in public education, including serving as an assistant principal, a principal and an assistant director of early education.

    Specialization

    Amanda specializes in transformational leadership, with an emphasis on initiating and managing change in early childhood education, K-12 instructional coaching, leadership, special education and parenting. She has presented at Conscious Discipline Summer Institutes and in the Conscious Discipline E-Course, and is featured in leadership podcasts.
