Amy Brakenhoff

Amy Brakenhoff has dedicated the entirety of her career to the support, care, and education of little ones, their families, and the educators who get to teach them. For 25+years, Amy worked in and provided services for early childhood education and family support as a coach, administrator, and adjunct professor. She delights in the collaboration of her colleagues in her field and has also served as a state-wide leadership and professional development coach while specializing in infant, toddler, and pre-k classrooms. Amy’s goal is to elevate the mission of Conscious Discipline within herself, and for others, as she continues to train, coach, and assist others in creating thriving School Families.  

Amy’s joy, enthusiasm, and expertise perpetuates her goal of helping others understand the “why” behind all the strategies she teaches others to implement within their home and school settings. She strives to make Conscious Discipline’s powers and principles come alive through her use of visuals, hands-on experiences, music, and other strategies that support executive function. 

Amy’s stellar career in education and her dedication to the implementation of Conscious Discipline have made her an exceptional speaker. Participants who have seen her in action have marveled at Amy’s ability to, “make the learning relatable to life and the classroom environment.”  Conscious Discipline is not meant to be kept in classrooms, but to inform self-regulation throughout life. Those who have benefitted from Amy’s teaching have “walked away reflecting on themselves and inspired to make changes,” in their day-to-day life. There is nothing more that can be asked of a Certified Instructor.
