More About Jen Arndt arrow-right

Jen has worked in education for over 10 years in both pre-k and elementary settings. After being introduced to Conscious Discipline during her first year of teaching, Jen was instantly hooked! She found that Conscious Discipline gave her the language and structures needed to create a safe, connected and rigorous classroom environment. As Jen continued to learn and implement Conscious Discipline strategies, she became a Conscious Discipline committee lead and was recognized as Teacher of the Year. She has helped successfully implement Conscious Discipline at two schools and in her own home.

Jen’s passion for Conscious Discipline has led her to conduct tours teaching visiting educators about Conscious Discipline, design and deliver a week-long Conscious Discipline orientation for new teachers, and create and manage The Buzz, a school-wide Brain Smart Start broadcasted by fifth grade students. She has also helped plan and execute two S.T.A.R. conferences and has presented at state and national conferences including the Conscious Discipline Summer Institute and the Elevate Social Emotional Learning Conference. Jen’s appreciation for those who have helped her on her Conscious Discipline journey compelled her to become a Certified Instructor and pay it forward.

Jen’s favorite part of being an educator is seeing students grow and master skills. She knows that the strategies students learn go beyond the classroom: they enter homes and last a lifetime. It’s meaningful for Jen to see the positive change that Conscious Discipline creates for children, families, schools and communities. Conscious Discipline also continues to impact Jen’s personal life, giving her the skills to regulate emotions, handle conflict, and build healthy relationships with those she loves, including her young son.

Because she understands the frustrations of being a teacher and parent, Jen has a desire to empower others to develop self-control, create safe spaces and strengthen relationships. She loves sharing her experiences with other educators and parents. Training participants often say they value Jen’s authenticity, organized and clear examples, and useful tips!
