The Office of Head Start periodically publishes its requirements for early childhood programs in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five. This Framework describes the skills, behaviors and concepts Head Start programs must align their curricula, assessments and professional development with in order to “meet school readiness goals and assure the continuity of early learning experiences.”
Conscious Discipline is united in Head Start’s goals of providing effective school readiness skills and social-emotional learning for young children. As such, the skills and strategies of Conscious Discipline align with the Head Start Framework in essential ways. Below you will find downloads for a complete guide to the 2010 Head Start Framework and a temporary “Alignment Briefing” for the current Head Start Framework. Our new, comprehensive alignment with the current Head Start Framework will be available in September.
