Trauma is epidemic, with almost half of children in the United States suffering one or more types of trauma. Children impacted by trauma often have difficulty focusing, connecting with others, and learning. Specific strategies and interventions are needed to create safety and build relationships with these children so they can thrive in the classroom and in life.
In this keynote from the 2019 Elevate SEL Conference, Dr. Becky Bailey explains trauma, its symptoms, and what you can do to help trauma-impacted children feel safe and connected enough to learn.
