NEW: Results of Conscious Discipline Parenting Education Curriculum Published in Peer-Reviewed Journal
The peer-reviewed Journal of Research in Innovative Teaching & Learning (JRIT&L) has published a Child Trends study describing changes in parental attitudes and behaviors following participation in Conscious Discipline’s Parent Education Curriculum. The 2018 descriptive study featured in the journal demonstrated changed perspectives and new skills among parents, improved parent-child relationships and decreased child behavior problems. It indicated that these changes were sustainable over time and that addressing the social emotional needs of adults is a viable step toward helping children improve their social skills and emotional regulation.

Conscious Discipline Excels in Harvard Analysis of Top 25 SEL Programs
In a study published by the Harvard Graduate School of Education and funded by The Wallace Foundation, Conscious Discipline was found to be one of only three SEL programs that focuses 75% or more of its content on Emotion/Behavior Regulation and Emotion Knowledge/Expression, and one of only 13 programs that focuses 50% or more its content on Interpersonal Skills. Conscious Discipline received high ratings in 8 of 10 categories. The study’s authors say, “Conscious Discipline provides an array of behavior management strategies and classroom structures that teachers can use to turn everyday situations into learning opportunities.”
