Melissa Chrisman

As a young girl, Melissa knew education was her calling. Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, she attended the University of Dayton where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education preK-3rd grade and a master’s degree in special education.

After five years as a school-age intervention specialist, Melissa found her niche when she began working as a preschool intervention specialist. Citing her first Conscious Discipline workshop as “a huge eye-opener,” Melissa found herself wondering why she hadn’t discovered its brain-based concepts and adult-first methodologies sooner. She has since devoted her life’s work to applying Conscious Discipline in her classroom to create a School Family, at home with her daughters, and out in the world as she teaches Conscious Discipline’s transformational change model to others.

Melissa’s presentations deliver real-world strategies that are supported by her classroom experiences and extensive Conscious Discipline implementation. Her passion for students with special needs and the educators who work with them lends a unique sense of joy and optimism as she takes participants deeper into their journey with Conscious Discipline.
