Kenedria Thurman’s dynamic energy and her passion for connecting with children and educators make her an exceptional Certified Instructor and powerful speaker. Her ability to see all children as able to achieve and deserving of love and learning has fueled her engagement with Conscious Discipline.  

Kenedria began using Conscious Discipline in the classroom in 2006 and has been using and teaching the concepts ever since. Her propensity to connect with an audience and lift them to new heights has guided her career as a speaker. Kenedria has also been a driving force in the Conscious Discipline with Excellence conferences at Florida A&M University in 2022 and 2023.  

As Director of Florida A&M University’s Educational Research Center for Childhood Development Kenedria is committed to learning and teaching brain-based approaches. She executes her vision for “developing lifelong learners, the Rattler way,” by merging her school program’s legacy with Conscious Discipline’s School Family model. Kenedria believes this empowers staff, families, and the campus to see children as learners who become leaders. Through her work as a Certified Instructor, Kenedria aims to continue encouraging others to provide a solid foundation for young children.
