Hertia Mims

Hertia Mims is a Dayton, Ohio native, a wife to Theodis Mims and mother of three leading daughters. Hertia has worked in early childhood education for 27 years. After teaching in private, public and Head Start programs, she began providing mentoring, support, professional development, and coaching to early childhood educators for Preschool Promise. She specializes in social emotional learning. She is CLASS observer, Maxwell Leadership Certified Team Member and Sinclair College graduate and entrepreneur.

She began her Conscious Discipline journey in 2015, when attending the weekend training she said, I’m going tell everyone about this and want to teach this to my colleagues. But later realized that She needed to work on herself first and be the change. In 2017 she had many opportunities to change while experiencing disconnections professional and personal relationships. Which led her to lean in being intentional in seeing behavior as a call for help and implementing connections that had eye contact, touch, presences and playfulness that led to healed relationships. A few years later she began building CDAT teams, leading trainings, workshops, coaching and assisting teachers in implementing Conscious Discipline in their classroom throughout the community.

Hertia is passionate about leading individuals to find their purpose, creating a vision for their life and developing strategies to achieve their goals and dreams.
