More About Diane Phelan arrow-right

Diane is passionate about helping adults that work with all age students. Her specialty is those that work and support pre teens and teenagers. With over 30 years of experience in education from early childhood to high school, Diane has a strong understanding of the demands educators and administrators face, and enables her to demonstrate, teach and model how to seamlessly integrate it all with Conscious Discipline. Her over 15 years of experience as a school principal at the secondary level drives her to help all teachers so they can help all students.

Diane brings excitement to every presentation in a way that is full of learning, humor, real-world, and heartfelt. Diane teaches Conscious Discipline’s concepts that are easy to apply to the early childhood classroom all the way to the secondary school environment by imparting practical, developmentally appropriate and effective strategies for implementation with young students, teens and adults. Her humor and personal stories about the challenges of working with all ages from “infants to in-laws” brings a sense of relatability and realness that any educator, administrator or parent can appreciate.

Diane has experienced the transformational power of Conscious Discipline firsthand in her personal life, classroom and administration. As a parent of adult children, Diane has had many opportunities to practice CD as the struggle of parenting was real as her daughters were growing up. She was the founding principal at Lonnie B. Keller Middle School, one of the first school wide CD schools in the country. She served as principal for ten years before moving to serve at San Jacinto Intermediate School as principal. Under her leadership, the schools have received numerous awards, including Texas School to Watch and a National School of Character.

Diane’s experience as a parent, teacher, and administrator in large schools help her bring Conscious Discipline alive in a variety of ways. Her interactive style will guarantee your team will walk away with a memorable learning experience.
