When things feel chaotic, it’s natural for us to try to control the situation to maintain a felt sense of safety and routine. In classrooms, this often means isolating the child(ren) at the center of the chaos. This method, however, only yields a temporary desired outcome at best. When it backfires, the results could be detrimental for everyone involved. There’s a better way.
Over the course of this specialized, two day educator workshop, explore strategies that focus on how to confront chaotic situations through clear Conscious Discipline structures, calming your own nervous system and using classroom community to support the de-escalation process centered on connection, not isolation. This is possible by identifying the brain states and applying the appropriate responses quickly and effectively for transformational change long term.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Attendees of the Conscious Discipline Institute are approved to earn one (1) CEU through Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) for full attendance and participation in all aspects of the Institute including small group work and breakout sessions.
