Sharon Ellerbrook’s Conscious Discipline journey began in 2016 at a National Association of the Education of Young Children conference. From the moment she walked into the first session, she found herself completely taken over by the presenter on stage who seemed to be speaking an entirely different language about meeting the needs of children when they are in moments of upset. The speaker was Dr. Becky Bailey, and the rest was history.   

Sharon is no stranger to childhood development; she dedicated the majority of her adult life to it. She has always been a big believer in the power of establishing relationships with co-workers, students and parents, and the Powers and Skills of Conscious Discipline help her deepen the quality of these relationships. Sharon has implemented Conscious Discipline in every position she’s held from teacher to administrator. She recently celebrated 28 years in education with retirement and counts it a blessing, “to have been a student of Conscious Discipline and to implement these skills in my own life and continue to share the mission with others I meet.” 

Sharon prides herself in her unique ability to inspire teachers and families to build strong, supportive relationships with one another in order to help children. Her last administrative role included opening her school district’s first Early Childhood Center where she helped develop a program in which students with special needs learn alongside their typically developing peers in an integrated environment that utilizes Conscious Discipline as a model for adults and children. 

Sharon is thrilled for the next step in her professional journey as a Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor.
