Nicholas Oinonen

It takes someone special to find their sweet spot as a Middle School Educator; that is why we’re so thrilled to have Nicholas Oinonen as a Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor. Nicholas strongly believes in the healing power of Conscious Discipline in the middle school years and has the experience to prove it. He is certified for graders 4-8 as an ELAR and History teacher and has been teaching in this age demographic for over 8 years. His passion and dedication to this age group has not gone unnoticed- Nicholas was the recipient of New Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year; both honors bestowed upon him by his school.  

It is not just Nicholas’s students who have had the opportunity to learn from him. We at Conscious Discipline have also had the benefit of his speaking and teaching talents at various CD events such as CD Institutes, Elevate, and school and district wide trainings. He specializes in Brain Smart Starts, how to create connections, and building school and class Families. 

When he’s not teaching or speaking, Nicholas loves spending time with his wife, Kacey and son, Neil. Nicholas is also a singer/songwriter, plays guitar and engages in ice hockey in his downtime. Nicholas maintains a commitment to being open about his own experiences and learning about the unique qualities of others; which makes him an incredible addition to our Certified Instructor team.
