More About Lacey Raymond arrow-right

Lacey Raymond, LCSW, MSW, RPT™, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play
Therapist™, early childhood mental health consultant, and owner of Mindful Nest Therapy,
Consultation, and Family Services in St. Joseph, Missouri. Her work bridges the fields of
mental health and education, helping adults transform the way they understand and
respond to children’s behavior.

For more than a decade, Lacey has served children, families, and educators in a variety of
roles, including Head Start teacher, Family Support Specialist, child and family therapist,
school social worker, and early childhood mental health consultant. Today, she partners
with Head Start programs by providing classroom and child observations, educator
coaching, professional development, and Tier 2 and Tier 3 consultation while also providing
therapy to children, adults, and families through her private practice.

Conscious Discipline is the foundation of both Lacey’s personal and professional life. She
believes lasting change begins with the adult and that every interaction is an opportunity to
strengthen connection, build safety, and teach life skills. Drawing from both clinical
expertise and classroom experience, she helps educators move beyond managing
behavior to understanding what behavior communicates and identifying the skills children
need to be successful.

Whether coaching educators, consulting with leadership teams, or sitting beside a child in
play therapy, Lacey’s goal remains the same: helping adults see behavior through a
different lens so they can respond with composure, connection, and intention. She
believes every conflict is an opportunity to teach, every behavior tells a story, and every
relationship has the potential to become a catalyst for healing, growth, and learning.
