Megan Duplain has 25 years of experience in education, first as a special educator and then as an administrator in a public school district in Arizona. She has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Special Education and is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and a certified Special Education teacher.

Megan first heard about Conscious Discipline from a colleague and immediately began learning as much information about the program as she could. Soon, Megan started sharing Conscious Discipline with other administrators in her district, and they worked as an administrative team to build a plan for implementing Conscious Discipline district-wide. Currently, Megan and her team are in the fourth year of a successful district-wide rollout.

The key to leading district-wide implementation, Megan says, is feeling the impact of Conscious Discipline personally first, then professionally. In addition to becoming the wife, mother, daughter and friend she wants to be, Megan sees how Conscious Discipline is impacting her district daily. The administrative team shares a common language and vision, allowing them to move forward on their transformational journey together. Students recognize their triggers and know how to self-regulate, can use their Big Voices and demonstrate healthy problem-solving, and know the importance of the School Family and their role in it.

Megan’s passion and expertise fall in two key areas: She has an expertise in developing systems to support students with intense mental health needs. She also specializes in district-wide implementation of Conscious Discipline and presented two demonstration sessions on the topic at the 2019 Conscious Discipline Elevate Social and Emotional Learning Conference. Megan is on a lifelong transformational journey with Conscious Discipline and is enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge and experience with others.
