Mary Masson comes to you as a presenter who understands children’s growth and development and adults’ needs in nurturing them. Her keen insight has been honed in over 35 years as a PK-elementary teacher, teacher-parent educator and as a mom and grandma. Mary Masson comes to you as an experienced educator, trainer, coach, mentor, mother and grandmother.  She has been an educator for over 35 years. She holds a BA in Elementary Education, a MA in Early Childhood Education and doctoral work in Early Childhood Education.

Mary’s experience with Conscious Discipline began when she became an Education Consultant at Oakland Schools Intermediate School District, a resource center to 28 public school districts in Oakland, County MI. Mary had been a PK and Elementary teacher for over 24 years in 6 different states in public, private, and parochial schools.  She had always searched for a better way to help children grow socially and emotionally. She wanted to know more about how to help children develop self-regulation and stronger executive skills. When introduced to Conscious Discipline she knew she had found the way!!!  An added benefit was her own personal and professional growth in becoming aware of her own behaviors and how they influenced herself and others.

Since then Mary has been the guide for teachers, paras, administrators, and parents to learn the Powers, Skills and Strategies of Conscious Discipline for 15 years.  She is acclaimed for her connecting teaching style.  She’s known for bringing Conscious Discipline alive through her playfulness, storytelling, humor and real life examples.  Teachers continually acclaim, “You get it! You understand where we are and what we’re dealing with.”  She has supported Conscious Discipline training in school wide implementations, mentored administrators and teachers, conducted large and small group trainings and parent education series.

Mary has also presented workshops and seminars at many professional conferences and has often been a Key Note Speaker for conferences and groups.

    Mary has over 35 years of experience in education. She has taught preschool and elementary students and worked as an education consultant. For 15 years, she has also coached teachers, parents, and administrators in Conscious Discipline.
