Lindsey Merrick has over 10 years of experience in education. She has worked as a lead teacher and is now the founding principal of the School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre. Lindsey has implemented Conscious Discipline into the school from the start, producing excellent results. She has also coached and trained administrators and teachers at multiple grade levels and in varied settings.

Lindsey began her Conscious Discipline journey as a Lead Teacher in a mixed Kindergarten-1st grade classroom for nine years before becoming the founding Principal of the School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre.

Having experienced first-hand the positive outcomes of building a classroom on safety, connection, and problem solving, she infused Conscious Discipline into the school from the beginning. Lindsey intentionally builds School Family with her faculty, allowing the adults on campus to experience the powers, skills, and structures of Conscious Discipline from the top down. In just four years, her school has experienced 100% staff retention, increased involvement from the parent community in volunteer hours, and has been rated an ‘A’ from the Florida Department of Education each year the school has been eligible for a grade.

Lindsey has a degree in Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University. Her personal practice of Conscious Discipline began in 2006 and she became a Certified Conscious Discipline Instructor in 2018. She has experience coaching and training administrators and teachers PreK-8th grade in various settings including Montessori, Charter, Public and Private schools. Lindsey serves on the Board of Directors of The Children’s Safety and Preparedness Coalition. She resides in Tallahassee, Florida with her husband, Jordan and daughter, Monroe.
