Kristine Hutchinson, Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor, has worked as a K-5 general and instrumental music teacher for 14 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in PreK-12 Music Education for Instrumental and General Music as well as a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration with a principal’s license.
Kristine discovered Conscious Discipline while working at a neuroscience charter school. She was attending Eric Jensen’s Brain Expo in Orlando, Florida and chose to attend a workshop session led by Dr. Becky Bailey. After that session, she was hooked and could not wait to learn more. She has spent the last term years learning and implementing Conscious Discipline in a variety of settings and is passionate about sharing this message.
Kristine’s knowledge in applying Conscious Discipline with students of all ages and in non-traditional classroom settings gives her a unique skill set as a presenter. She has adapted the classroom structures and routines of Conscious Discipline that have been proven in the traditional classroom to work in a specialist area. She currently implements Conscious Discipline in her music classroom where she sees students for only 45 minutes once weekly. She is also able to see the workings of Conscious Discipline through an administrator’s lens, helping to achieve school-wide implementation through administrative leadership. Thinking outside the box and creating modifications and adaptations to implementation are some strengths in her skill set.
Kristine is a dynamic presenter and has appeared at the National Charter School Convention as well as Wisconsin State Charter School Convention as well as several districts throughout the state. She has a passion for training child care workers, teachers, and administrators.×
