Joni Spencer, BA, LSW has been a teacher from 8 years of age for her younger siblings. Joni dreamed about making a difference in this world by teaching and sharing her love for children in any way she could. At 38 years old she started college and graduated with a Mental Health Degree in 1994 and a Social Work degree in 1997 from Wright State University.
In spite of her inability to bear children, she has been given ample opportunities to work with children of all ages. Starting first with her step-daughter, foster son, and adopted daughter and then sharing her love for children by connecting with families, children and teachers as a Mental Health Consultant since 2001.
Conscious Discipline has been a key to seeing her dreams come true. Her dream grew from touching the lives of her own children to reaching hundreds. By educating parents and teachers, she has multiplied her influence for positive connections and discipline. Joni believes Conscious Discipline has the potential to bring change to this generation and create a better world for the next generation. Her passion is evident in her teaching and her playful personality brings both enthusiasm and enjoyment to the workshops. Everyone can come away with a different perspective and a renewed sense of why we do what we do with children. Her motto: You can become a significant encourager in the lives of young people by changing ourselves first.×
