Jennifer Arnold Skrivanek graduated from Texas A&M University in 1987 with a Bachelors Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Her first teaching experience was in third grade in Bryan Texas. After spending time at home caring for her young children she returned to teaching and worked in a church preschool setting for five years. Jennifer then returned to the public-school setting in Bryan, Texas teaching Kindergarten for eight years.
She graduated with a Masters in Educational Administration from Sam Houston State University in 2006. During 2006 – 2010 she held the position of assistant principal at Milam Elementary in Bryan, Texas. While working as assistant principal she, along with her principal, searched for social-emotional learning that would impact both teachers and students.
Conscious Discipline clearly met the needs of the teachers, students, and families at Milam Elementary. A Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor began training teachers in the implementation of Conscious Discipline at her school. She was encouraged by this Certified Instructor to attend CD1 training. After attending CD1 and CD2 she became a Certified Instructor in Conscious Discipline in 2008. After four years as assistant principal, Jennifer moved to the position of Dean of Instruction at Fannin Elementary in Bryan, Texas. She then held the position of Master Teacher in the TAP Program at Navarro Elementary for two years. Jennifer has held position of Assistant Principal at College Hills Elementary in College Station, Texas since 2014.
In each of the positions she has held, both in teaching and in administration, she has continued to develop her skills in Conscious Discipline including training educators at the campus, district, and state levels. Jennifer’s passion for sharing Conscious Discipline with educators, students, and parents is evident in her focus on helping those around her grow in developing Conscious Discipline skills.×
