Georgette Hugger is an energetic and enthusiastic presenter and parent teacher and classroom coach. She has been a proponent and practitioner of Conscious Discipline® since attending her first workshop in 2008. Georgette has been a Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor since June 2014. She is the owner of Hugger’s Guiding Light DBA A Guiding Light, LLC.

Georgette possess a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood. She has been an Early Childhood Specialist since 1986 and has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 3rd grade and ESE K-6 in Rockland County New York and in Palm Beach County Florida.

It was her privilege to practice the techniques in her classroom. Georgette is now devoting her career to serving as a Conscious Discipline® Certified Instructor and providing her services to schools, teachers, parents, faith based and home school groups. She has shared Conscious Discipline® in Palm Beach, Marin and Indian River Countries. Georgette serves as a volunteer Mentor for a single mother Mentee through The Open Door and has shared Conscious Discipline® with the members of this organization. IT is her goal to spread the social-emotional methodology of Conscious Discipline® to as many individuals as possible.

    Georgette has 36 years of teaching experience in pre-K through grade 3 and resource room.  She served as the director of a Learning Center for 4+ years and became a certified instructor for Conscious Discipline in 2014.

    Georgette specializes in coaching and training for preschool teachers and parents, facilitated Conscious Discipline book studies, and individual in-home coaching.

  • Certification

    Georgette is a Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor and holds her Florida Teacher Certificate in Preschool/Primary Age 3 – Gr 3, Elementary Education Gr. K -6, and ESE, Gr. K -12.

  • Education

    Georgette earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College and her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, Specializing in Early Childhood from Long Island University.
