For more than 16yrs, Carmen Bernard has dedicated herself to working with young children and families in many diverse settings. Not only in the classroom, but also in homes, hospitals, the juvenile justice system, family court and foster care system. Though varied, her passion for helping others and working with families has been the one true constant. Currently, Carmen is also a faculty member at Eastern Florida State College in the Early Childhood Education program.

A dedicated advocate for young children, she serves as Vice President of the Space Coast Association for the Education of Young Children and is a member of the Childhood Advocacy Committee in her community. Carmen holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education as well as a Master’s degree in Social Work. Carmen’s warm and friendly personality helps others feel safe and comfortable. She has a keen ability to see the best in all children and motivates others with her enthusiasm, dedication and firm conviction in the program. As a mother of three young children, Carmen is a great resource for other parents as she gets a lot of practice implementing these principles in her home on a daily basis.
