More About Ashley Furnell arrow-right

Ashley has worked for over ten years as an early childhood special education teacher. When she first learned about Conscious Discipline at a professional development training, she immediately connected with the concept of decreasing fear and increasing love. Conscious Discipline came into her life at just the right time, as her oldest daughter was becoming a toddler and Ashley was running out of ideas to manage her ever-growing independence. She began her at-home practice with I Love You Rituals, visual schedules, offering choices, and assertive language. The more Ashley practiced at home, the better she became at utilizing the powers and skills at school (and vice versa).

Gradually, Conscious Discipline completely transformed Ashley’s classroom and home. Students are more willing and excited to come to school and be part of the “School Family” Ashley has created, and teaching has become more enjoyable. Her two daughters are now mini Conscious Discipline teachers themselves, sharing breathing techniques with peers and taking full advantage of their family’s Safe Place to continue building self-regulation skills. Ashley even finds herself using Conscious Discipline in her day-to-day life, whether she’s running errands, sitting in traffic, or taking a trip to the dentist. As she learned more and began seeing results, Ashley became passionate about sharing Conscious Discipline and teaching it to others.

This enthusiasm for sharing Conscious Discipline has prompted Ashley to lead Conscious Discipline training workshops and coaching sessions for early childhood teachers, administrators, and parents. Participants in Ashley’s training sessions enjoy her creative methods of bringing Conscious Discipline to life and her engaging, relatable delivery!
