Amy Allen has been a Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor since 2010. She conducts Conscious Discipline classes, book studies and empowerment groups focusing on the latest research for wiring up children’s brains to help parents and caregivers use connecting activities to instill impulse control, willingness, cooperation, and self-regulation. She also works with school center’s staff, training and coaching them how to implement Conscious Discipline’s brain-based strategies and techniques into their teaching practices.
Recently, she has joined the team at Palm Beach State College’s Institute of Excellence in Early Care and Education (IEECE) as an Instructional Designer and trainer. As an Instructional Designer, Amy is developing Outcome Driven Trainings incorporating Conscious Discipline skills, structures, and techniques. She has been teaching the course Becoming Brain Smart™ at several campuses of the college to provide this valuable knowledge to as many early childhood practitioners as possible throughout Palm Beach County. IEECE is also working with seven early learning centers piloting Conscious Discipline following the three-year transformational process. Amy is excited to be a part of this amazing team and helping to transform the lives of so many early care providers and children, including her own daughter who attends one of the Conscious Discipline pilot sites.
Prior to IEECE, Amy worked in the School District of Palm Beach County for 23 years. She started her education career as an assistant, followed by 13 years as a teacher at the elementary level. She was promoted to Assistant Principal where she began her journey with Conscious Discipline at an elementary school for 5 years and then continued for an additional 3 years as a district trainer. Amy holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Teaching, an Education Specialist Degree in Montessori Education and is certified by the state of Florida in Educational Leadership.×
