Angela Fraley
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Angela completed her graduate work at the University of Oklahoma to earn a master's degree in Prevention Science and an IC & RC Certified Prevention Specialist credential. Her undergraduate work took place at the University of Central Oklahoma where she obtained teaching certifications in Elementary Education, Early Childhood and Mild to Moderate Disabilities.Jennifer Skrivanek

Jennifer Arnold Skrivanek graduated from Texas A&M University in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Her first teaching experience was in third grade in Bryan Texas. After spending time at home caring for her young children she returned to teaching and worked in a church preschool setting for five years. Jennifer then returned to the public-school setting in Bryan, Texas teaching Kindergarten for eight years. Jennifer graduated with a master's in educational administration from Sam Houston State University in 2006. During 2006 – 2010 she held the position of assistant principal at Milam Elementary in Bryan, Texas. While working as assistant principal she, along with her principal, searched for social-emotional learning that would impact both teachers and students. Scholarships
The Conscious Discipline Institute Scholarship covers tuition fees and course materials for one Institute. Travel, accommodations, meals and any special discount packages are not covered. If you have registered for the 2024 Institute and you are selected to receive a scholarship, your registration fees will be refunded. Scholarship recipients may be asked to write a brief article and/or record a video testimony about your experience to be used for informational and promotional purposes. Prior scholarship recipients are not eligible. Scholarships are not transferable.Helper Positions
Helpers are an essential part of our team. They contribute to the success of our workshops by sharing their wonderful gifts. To apply for a helper position, you must be a graduate of the Conscious Discipline Institute. Helpers are typically selected in the following order: Conscious Discipline Certified Instructors, Conscious Discipline Certified Instructors, Advanced Institute Graduates, Institute Graduates. Institutes often sell out before we select our helpers. If you would like to attend the institute at full tuition even if you are not selected as a helper, register separately before helpers are chosen by submitting the standard registration form and payment. If we select you as a helper, we will refund your tuition. -
Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Attendees of the Conscious Discipline Institute are approved to earn four (4) CEUs through Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) for full attendance and participation in all aspects of the Institute including small group work and breakout sessions. Attendees who wish to obtain CEUs must apply through CUW at https://continuinged.cuw.edu/conscious-discipline.html. The Institute course code is EDGP 5108.

- Notice and understand the signs of burnout as they appear within yourself, staff and colleagues.
- Practice “tap out” strategies for high stress and trigger moments.
- Learn how to be the thermostat of your classroom or home, instead of the thermometer.
- Identify how a survival state can perpetuate burnout, and implement self-care strategies to bring calm and composure to your nervous system.
- Overcome physiological and physical fatigue and build supports for prevention such as identifying your safe person, practicing assertiveness and learning skills to pivot from being irritated to encouraged.
- Cultivate a thriving School Family to promote a positive educational climate and culture rooted in safety, connection, problem solving, and support.
- Access restorative practices and active calming strategies so you can re-engage in your love of education and re-fill your tank.
- Actualize practical steps that prevent burnout from recurring in an environment supported by education experts.
