Transform chaos to connection and cooperation with hard to reach children

With some children, hurtful behaviors seem to continue no matter what. What can we do after we’ve tried everything? This workshop will integrate research about brain development with proven interventions and best practices designed to help these hurting, hurtful children. Consequences only work with connected children who already possess the required skills. For disconnected children with underdeveloped skills, consequences compound the problem. Learn simple alternative strategies to replace chaos with connection and cooperation for your most challenging children.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Understand why some children resist connection.
  • Discover how to build relationships with hard-to-reach children.
  • Learn why consequences often fail with chronically aggressive children, and how and why connection leads to lasting behavioral changes.
  • Explore the Conscious Discipline Brain State Model so you can better understand children’s behavior and which responses will be most helpful.
  • Equip yourself with immediately usable strategies to help children develop impulse control and increase cooperation.
  • Learn to adapt Conscious Discipline strategies like I Love You Rituals, Baby Doll Circle Time and noticing for all, especially children with trauma.
