How can Conscious Discipline make an impact?

Dropout rates are higher for black and brown students than their white classmates, according to the U.S. Department of Education. Meanwhile, black teachers have reported significantly higher rates of burnout and turnover. Now, more than ever, our communities are full of hurting children and frustrated adults. Part of engaging with equity is asking difficult questions of educators of minority-facing communities, such as: “Are the children well? And if not, why? And if so, what can change?”
Conscious Discipline is a social and emotional learning (SEL) program backed by 25+ years of fieldwork and evidence-based models, allowing educational leaders to create space for all children, neurotypical and neurodiverse. It is trauma-informed and has transformed entire districts.
