Description

If a child doesn’t experience a felt sense of belonging, they cannot learn. Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) emphasizes understanding individuals as cultucvent
ral beings to foster authentic, meaningful connections that promote cooperation and collaboration. Combined with Conscious Discipline’s concepts of self-regulation that focus on skills, structures, and brain research, these approaches align to drive transformational change. Join Dr. Valerie J. Parker in this transformational event to acknowledge and unpack implicit biases, embrace true cultural identities and create spaces of belonging and representation where everyone is seen.

CD focuses on the powers, skills and structures that help humans to regulate themselves. Culturally responsive teaching focuses on the human experience. It helps educators to understand who people are as cultural beings so they can have deeper, richer, more authentic experiences with others outside of touch, play, eye contact etc. then we are capable of those conversations that build cooperation that leads to collaboration. Race, ethnicity, gender, Alignment: both focus on brain research and connections. When we put these two things together, we’ll see some alignment. You can’t have one without the other for transformational change.

All CD Connect virtual workshops will be recorded and made available to registered attendees post-event via the  CVENT app or attendee webpage for three months.  Registered participants who do not attend will still have three-month access unless they cancel their registration.
