Right now, we are all in uncharted territory. As sheltering in place with our families continues, Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor Amy Speidel sat down with Your Teen Magazine to discuss how to coexist as smoothly as possible in this unique situation.
Amy Speidel and Your Teen‘s Susan Borison cover topics including:
- Convincing teenagers to follow the rules
- Tools we can use to navigate conflict
- Co-parenting
- Maintaining perspective
Speidel shares encouragement like, “Just remember that 20 percent of the time of your day you can be nailing it and the rest can be mucky as hell. But that 20 percent of the time is going to be what matters the most. Hold onto that…Don’t minimize those moments. Those are big moments that will hold you together.”
Certified Instructor Amy Speidel has worked in education for over 25 years, beginning her career as an educator and later becoming a preschool director. She is now a national presenter for Conscious Discipline and a certified parent coach. With her experience as a foster parent, a birth parent and an adoptive parent, Amy specializes in educating and equipping families of all makeups.
